Wish for Mouse-free Note entry and editing tool in X1

It would be useful for me and perhaps others if Cakewalk would add Mouse free "Note entry tool" for the Staff and Piano roll view in next version of Sonar X1.

Computer-keyboard-only note-entry is possible in some notation software and I think what comes closest to be useful is in Finale and Noteworthy.
But such a tool in a sequencer like Sonar should only have the most used elements and not get lost in the fine detail like happens in the notation programs.

Note entry would have two modes: Select mode and Entry mode.
The most used actions should only have one keystroke and combination of two keys at the most. Here is an example:

Entry mode is active when no note is selected. A "next note cursor" is displayed where next note would be added. It should give an indication of length.
- Left/Right arrow = move the "next note cursor" backwards/forwards one step 1)
- Numpad/Plus minus = Shorten/Lengthen next note one step 1)
- Up/Down = move the "next note cursor" up down one note diatonically
- Enter = Add note and move the "Next note cursor" forward one step 1)
- Shift Enter = Add note and not move "Next note cursor"
- Backspace = Delete the note the left and move the "Next note cursor" one step 1) backwards
- Dot (.) =  Next note will be dotted. Dot will turn off after the note entry
- Shortcuts for triplets, staccato/legato and sharps/natural/flat.
- Shift Left/Right arrow = Select note to the left/right to the cursor and turn to Select mode.

Select mode is active when one or more note is selected:
- Del = delete note
- Left/Right arrow = select previous/next note
- Shift left/Right arrow = Add previous/next note to selection
- Up/Down arrow = Transpose selected notes up/down diatonically
- Shift Up/Down arrow = Transpose selected notes up/down one semitone
- Ctrl Up/Down arrow = Transpose selected notes up/down an octave
- Numpad/Plus minus = Shorten/Lengthen note one step 1)
- Shift Numpad/Plus minus  = Increase/Decrease velocity
-  Esc = select no note and turn to Entry mode
- Ctrl Left/Right = Previous/next bar and turn to Entry mode
- Ctrl Up/Down = Select next track Above/Below current one and turn to Entry mode

Many normal Sonar shortcuts like spacebar for play/stop could still be used.

1) Steps: Numpad plus/minus cycles through note values: 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, 1/64.  It would be nice if the user could define in a window what length values to include in the cycle, including dotted notes and triplets.  So I you are writing song with mostly, half notes, quarter notes, dotted quarter notes and eight notes you could temporary limit your options.

You can use a pen tablet. I have the Wacom Bamboo and it works. Takes a little getting used to. You can also use a touch screen display if you have one.
