Without You Love
Words & Music by
James L. Saad c 2013

Verse 1
Without your love
I would never survive.
Without your love
I would never survive.
Without your heart
(beating in mine)
I would always be alone.
Without your heart
there is no place
to call my home.

It’s only you
who’s always loved me
for the sorry soul I am.

Without your love
I’d be just a lonely man.

Verse 2
Without your smile
the world is painted gray.
Without your smile
there is no purpose to each day.

It’s just the way
you’ve always touched me
that made the man that I became.

Without your love
things would never be the same.

Bridge
Now together through this life
oh we treasure all our dreams fulfilled.
And together we belong
to each other as we have willed.

Verse 3
And with your heart
our dreams will always stay alive.
And with your heart
our spirit will always
want to fly.

But it’s just the way
of this old world
when two hearts can break
after beating as one;

but with your love
I will always belong.
And with your love
I will always belong.

Very heart touching song Jimmy and everything sounds right in place. Nice guitar and instrumentation and your vocals are well felt (great lyrics) and a nice mix brings this full circle. Lovely song!! Hope you had a blessed Christmas.

Love the sparseness & simplicity of it.
You have a great voice and the backing vocals are really good.
Great use of the orchestra cymbal aswell bro, Im gonna try use that soon!

Would love to hear it with a crisp RnB ballad type beat as opposed to the standard 4/4 drum beat you have there like this for e.g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isJ86DZWwVY, anyway, only a thought.

A very clean and well done recording. You have a good voice. Seemed to me to be just a little slow, but this also made it a little more reflective and serious IMO. I like what verb you used. It sits very well with this song.

Nice music and lyrics ( how the lyrics are, is very important )
it can make a song very strong.
no matter how god the music are, without any meaningful lyrics
a song can fall into the ground...

    The mix is great

    Very well done

That's lovely Jimmy. Is that Rhodes from Dim Pro? Just doing a track with an identical sound. The backing vocals are beautifully mixed, just right. I like the restrained lead guitar too, nice.

    #6 online definiation of "Hup":

    HUP!
When you throw a piece of smooshed cheese at a wall/ceiling, you must say this word.
    HUP!
    (now throw the cheese, pre-smooshed)

I think I am not hip enough for hup.  Hip hup horray....hup 1 hup 2 hup 3...  Hup me if you can I'm feeling down... hupalong cassidy?  hup's the lady that he loves the best...

    Nice...really nice.

I like the simplicity of this. You have a well written song. There's a lot to like about this.

I'd like to make 2 suggestions to you.

Remove one word or perhaps one line. Take out the word "sorry" and find a better word to use there. It may even be better to write a new line. Everything else in the song is so uplifting and positive,  then that one line puts you down. It's out of the character of the rest of the lyrics. Find a replacement and it will make the song so much better.

Second..... while I liked the Rhodes, I'd love to hear this with a nice Acoustic Grand of some make or the other. Just a personal preference there.

This is a seriously good song.

    Hi Herb,
Thank you for taking the time with your comments.  I really appreciate it.  I liked "the sorry soul I am" to show that I am not worthy of the love even though I can't live without it.  I never thought of it until now so I will consider your suggestion seriously.

I will try the piano as well.  I did like the bell like quality of the keys and thought a piano would be too strong.

You really brightened my day with your nice words.  Thanks much.

    Jimmy

    Nice one Jimmy. Very touching.

    I'm confused though.

    "it’s only you
    who’s always loved me
for the sorry soul I am. "

    "It’s just the way
    you’ve always touched me
that made the man that I became."

hmm. I'll have to ponder that.

    Hey Tim,

Thanks for the listen.  The best I can come up with is that a great man can be humble enough to admit he is not.

    All the best.
