Won't record with Scarlett 2i2

Hi all,
hoping one of you giants can help out this nube
I just bought a Scarlett 2i2, went through the install procedures.  The device works great with Sound Forge (records, that is)
Sonar will paly audio through it, but it won't record for love or money.  The device shows up in the device manager, you can assign it to a channel. but it simply won't record one bit.

Help!!

Welcome to the forum. Are you brand new to X1 or do you have some experience with the program? Do you have your inputs set up correctly? Have you read the help topic tutorials that came with X1? Cheers.

You also need to arm the track you're recording to.

    No (face palm) needed.
It's a common oversight for a lot of us when we first started.
It's a feature rich program and there's a little check list that you'll get used to while recording.

Save the (face palm) for that day when everything is set up and routed correctly, meters jumping, timeline moving....................
    No sound!

You'll spend an ample amount of time trying to find WTH is going on.
............Then it hits you.......... I never turned my monitors on.

    DOH!!!!

Please stop in and let us know when that one happens mm-kay?
