Working with Groove Clips between SONAR and ABELTON

So I have a client that wants to create a series of loops for using live with Abelton. I don't have much experience with the program, but it seems pretty basic, import the loop and click to play.
So here was my process:
  1. create the mix and export to L+R
  2. import in same project or separate project with same tempo
  3. Ctrl+L to create a loop (groove clip) out of the newly imported stereo clip
  4. Click and drag loop into a folder and rename the loop
After completing the process here is what I observed:

After I imported the file to a new Abelton project the project automatically selected the tempo (presumably to the info in the loop) however, the original was recorded at 80bpm and Abelton imported as 160bpm. Not much of an issue, until I imported another loop that was mono so I only did steps 3 and 4 - and it was nowhere near the same tempo - I think it set to 120 - so the two were definitely off in tempo even though they came from the same initial project.

I will certainly do more research on Abelton - however I wanted to make sure my loop exporting process was OK.
So my questions are:

If I create a loop (groove clip) in SONAR, it is my understanding that it contains some basic project info such as tempo, key, etc. Is there a way to view the info after exporting?
Is there a better way to export loops (groove clips) than to drag to a folder?
How can I be sure that the project info is properly recorded in the loop (groove clip)?

Any help is appreciated..

After setting the properties of the Groove Clip in Sonar, double click the clip to open the Loop Construction view. Then click the Save Icon in that view to save the clip as an "ACIDized" Wav file.

For more detailed info look in the Sonar Help File under "ACID Files" and ACIDized Loops".
