Works fine with cakewalk demo project. but no sound when I load a midi file.

This is my first foray into midi since using cakewalk 1.0 in 1987.
I'm using a Roland duo capture USB sound interface with ASIO enabled. When I load up the demo cakewalk project it works fine, however  if I load up a generic .mid file, I can see the VU meters moving, but there's no sound. I'm sure this has probably been covered a hundred times, but I don't know where to start. Any help would be appreciated!

    Welcome to the forum.
You need to Insert a software synthesizer.
Click Insert at the top and select one of the soft synths (I don't know what your version of SONAR LE has, so just pick one from the list). Uncheck 'Create MIDI Source Track' from the menu since you already have a MIDI source track.
Once the synth track is created, set you MIDI track's output to the synth.
