World Music arranged like prog rock

I've entered a remix contest on the IndabaMusic site.  I didn't really change the style of the song, but I gave it a more complex arrangement with more light and shade.  Like all the other mixes I've done, it's a bit "prog".

Excellent job, Kev.  The mix stands up to scrutiny, and could very well be a winner.  It helps to start with a good song and good performances.  Good luck to you.

Unlikely.  I've entered a dozen of these contests and I never do well in them.  A typical winning entry is usually something attention-grabbing and in-your-face rather than subtle and melodic.

When I listen back to it on different systems, I hear all the flaws and I cringe.  Maybe I should have run it by you guys at an earlier stage.

On the other hand, a few votes would be nice.

Unfortunately they have changed the voting system since the last time I entered one of these contests.  Apparently they now have some deal with Facebook.

That link does not seem to work here in Australia. (not for me anyway) Is there a way you could post it up on Soundcloud or something similar.

I'm in Victoria too and it works for me, although Indaba webpages generally take a long time to load and sometimes time out or only display half the content.  The site is also browser-sensitive.

Here are some more relevant links:

I am not sure whether I am allowed to post my mix on other sites.  It is allowed in some of these contests but not in others.  The rules are different in each case, so I will need to check the fine print.

I don't blame you for not using Facebook.  I resisted signing up for years before I eventually gave in.  I now use it as a means of keeping in touch with family on the other side of the world.

The rules are not clear on this, but lots of other entrants have posted their mixes on Soundcloud, so I have followed suit.
