World Percussion in Sonar 5.x

I am in need of a variety of percussion instruments--Middle Eastern, African, Cuban primarily--to be used in Sonar projects. I already own Battery II and DR-008, and I'm seriously considering adding BFD.

What should I consider in this respect?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Maybe a loop disc from http://www.soundsonline.com/sophtml/search.phtml

Might be more bang for the buck.

I would just use sonar and drop the loops in unless you want to trigger them manually.

    Dancer,

I work with percussion almost exclusively...I write Latin Jazz. AFAIK, the absolute best percussion loops out there are from Q Up Arts, appropriately titled, Latin Groove Factory. For about $300 you can get Caribbean, Afro-Cuban AND Brazilian rhythms ready for inclusion in your Sonar projects. Battery 2 has a pretty good Afro-Cuban Kit, but these (LGF) include loops AND samples, which can be directly loaded into Battery 2.

The only other product worth mentioning is BWIC (Beats Working in Cuba) , which includes a Kontakt player, about $300.

Lastly, if all you want are samples, for about $99 you can pick up Sonic Implants Afro-Cuban Percussion. Good quality, but no loops.

    HTH...
