Wow.. Been a long time!

Been a while since I visited the forums..

Feels good..learned so much here over the years

First time I have ever really made a finished original of mine public like this.. I mean.. really public..like..going to stick it on FB kind of public..:)

Did this here - using Sonar 8.5.3. - I know....Dinosaur.. I still like it!

It was mastered by Brian Lucey @ Magic Garden Mastering

You gotta let em go sooner or later.. right??.. I'm a musician..not an engineer .. but this is me.

Hope you like it..let me know!

Great song, and well done!  I love the drums and bass, totally in the pocket and smooth, yet creative.  Vocals are fantastic.  Background sounds (suspended guitar and keys) are slightly eerie, yet sweet.  Production is excellent.  Love the panning of the various parts, especially the vocals.  Ace!

If you're looking for a nitpick - maybe the snare could use a little more snap, and the cymbals (especially in the outro) are a bit splashy.  You may have over-compressed the drum bus slightly?

Only listening on laptop, so hard to say much mix-wise other than it translates pretty well and the various parts seem to sit well with each other.
Being critical, which I hope you will take the right way, I found the vocal melody lacking a little, particularly when you hit the chorus sections. It all sounds a bit the same and could use more variation.

The mix sounds good but the vox sound a bit muffled but it might be me (too early to be listening to music).

Not bad at all for your first letting it out there kind of song. The instrumentation has lot of layers to it and seems a bit grouped close together and could use just a bit more separation, but that's no big thing. The vocals feel like your nervous a bit and lack emotion, yet not that bad enough to worry about, that will get better with more singing. All and all, a very nice song and a good sound. Welcome back to the forum.

This is a terrific song that has both an artistic and commercial appeal.  Very creative and catchy!  I've heard other vocals in this vein, and I've always liked the moody vibe that comes when performed well, such as this.  Keep em coming.

    All the best,

I really like the song.  There are a few vocal missed notes or something but all in all I think it's a really good song.  I am really more into the writing because I can't usually explain mix problems because I don't usually do the mixes on our tunes, just enough to give Mark the idea of what I'm doing.  I do like this song a lot!

    Hi,

I like the song alot.  The lead vocal EQ has some issues with sibilence.  The actual frequency of the hot eq sounds artificial in a way.  Hard to describe.  The arrangement is very good.  I think you need a remix and really look at the eq on the lead vocal.  It needs to sound more natural IMO.  The song is worth it!

    Nice job.
