To me news was the already ancient USB otg thingy that made it possible for me a couple of days ago to get some tunes from my USB stick. I hadn,'t even heard of otg but it came in to my mind that there surely is a way to get it done. The USB c thing is just awesome. Although it can BE bad news for some manufacturers that have loads of soonish old getting parts.

I am so excited that you can insert it either way like a Thunderbolt card - really sucks plugging in USB connectors behind a computer under a desk and trying to get the orientation right! :)

Am I missing something?  Is there something more to this than a which-way-don't-matter doodad for charging iStuff?

OIC.  I guess it's really cool.  I just don't have than many USB/video/audio/charger cable troubles.  I can see how a few tech generation down the road this will clean things up considerably.  Will USB-C also work on jumper cables?  It's always a PITA getting the 'gator things connected

    I remember when

    moog synthesizers
    cassettes
    CD's
    ADAT tapes

    were the future

Each one of them went thru a 3-7 year cycle to become the "standard".

This simple cable will require me to get

    a new phone
    several new computers
clean out my drawers (and maybe my skivvies too)

    sheesh

Don't worry.  The Chinese are already making a complete line of adapters to convert USB-C to the full spectrum of standard cables.  Nothing will change in the end except the need for more dongle-adapter thingies.

From some of the coverage of his trial:

Bradford also said that Fogle has a compulsive drive — and that "When he lost weight it seemed that in a short period of time he developed compulsive sexuality," as Adriana Diaz of CBS News reports.

That's enough for me to choose to keep the weight on.  I don't want to get any weird side-effects!
