I just use google and include Cakewalk Forum in the search field. Never fails. Brings up related (and sometimes hilariously unrelated) stuff on other sites too which is sometimes interesting/useful.

    Beepster,

I do similar, but only include Cakewalk.  This brings up Cakewalk help also.
But your idea on Cakewalk Forum is more specific.

But to the OP's point, the forum search here is pretty lame.

I've got the help PDF on my laptop (which admittedly isn't as up to date as the online but it gets me where I'm going most times) as well as some other resources and all my notes so I usually dig up that stuff locally. But yes... that is definitely a good plan if you want to include the help topics. I used to do it that way but I actually didn't want the manual to pop up so I refined my search term habits.

It's unusable but most people are spoiled by proper search engines. I find most sites internal search functions are pretty crappy and usually defer to google for everything else as well. Google has however made itself less useful/accurate than it once was though when they decided to keep us all safe from maybe perhaps kind of seeing a boobie by accident.
