Wrong Blue Tube settings in ProChannel (Sonar X3)

Good day.  I'm having a problem with settings in ProChannel and plugins.  I'm using Sonar X3 in a Win7 64 bit to mix a dozen tracks.

The situation: I set up various (Blue Tube mainly) plugins in ProChannel and save/name the settings within the plugin and then save the ProChannel strip with the singers name/version.  Then I save it all as a project file.

The problem:  when I load the project, the plugins come with the settings as saved.  But when I play the tracks, the settings change to what looks like the default settings.  Hmmm, I really don't want to re-adjust these settings each time I load/play a project.

I've seen many posts on similar issues with ProChannel settings, but since Xe update, they seemed to have been fixed.  I'm probably missing something obvious but haven't been able to solve.

Any help, suggestions would be appreciated.

Ugh, I've fought this issue far too many times over the years, myself. The only solution- more of a workaround- that I've found is inserting an empty measure at the start of the project, then setting an envelope node for each affected parameter at the very beginning, before playback begins. The affected plugins still seem to follow automation, so this method kind of forces them to the setting I want when they start getting adventurous.

    Good luck!

    Check out my music! :]

fif4lifefif ... thanks for the help.  I've developed a work flow that makes this issue livable.  But it is an "ugh" for sure.  I'll add your workaround and maybe I'll keep what hair I have left.

PS -- some cool tracks on your site.

Cool, mind sharing your technique that you use? Maybe I'll find it better than my current workaround. :D

Thanks for your kind words on my music! I recently have been encountering takedowns by SoundCloud since I make a lot of "unauthorized" remixes, but I'm fighting them on Fair Use grounds. Another new one coming in the next week or so! :o]

fif4lifefif, here it is, for what's it worth.  I do this for each track.  Within ProChannel, I load the non ProChannel plugins and adjust the parameters "to taste."   Once I get what I think works for the track, I save a setting for each non PC plugin, with an memorable name.  I then save the ProChannel set up with a memorable as well.  With this done, I would expect the track to load upon opening again but it doesn't.  The PC settings are saved but the non PC plugins load with default settings (except for some which load the saved parameters -  a mystery).  So, I re-load the non PC plugin parameters (over the default settings) using the memorable names.  This loads the parameters as I had saved them.  To make this easier, I keep all ProChannels open when I save the project and, upon reopening, I march through them one by one before I restart editing a project.  (I must be missing something in Sonar X3 as having to do this seems stupid.)

I haven't had time (been to west Texas for a couple of weeks) to work on your approach but it may be better in the long run.

Doktor A, thanks for the suggestion.  I re-scanned VST before my mot recent project and it didn't fix the situation.
