Wusik Station V8

Just wondering how many of you use Wusik Station? I still have an earlier version (I can't remember if it's 6 or 7), but haven't installed it in my (now) 2 year old DAW......(IIRC, it had a huge library of sounds....still sitting in my DAW).

Version 8 is on sale for $24.95 ($19.95 if you have V7), and it will import all the legacy sounds.

One thing to notice is that Wusik Station V8 is actually a NEW product. I didn't just took V7 code and made it cross-platform. No, I started from zero, reusing Wusik 8000 code which is cross-platform and uses modern coding. This presented some problems, but also introduced a lot of new great features that V7 did not have, but also removed some features that V7 had and now I need to work on.
Be sure to check out the videos showcasing the current full functional version: http://youtube.wusik.com
What has changed on V8?

- Cross platform: Windows and MAC (possibly Linux too, later this year).
This alone may not seem much, but it is, most of the work will be recoding
the project so it can use modern cross-platform code instead of the current code.
- Multi Line Graphical Envelopes. (*)
- New Filter Types, including a custom user filter script type. (*)
- “Unlimited” number of parallel filters per layer.
- “Unlimited” number of chained effects per layer insert and per master sends (2 in total).
- “Unlimited” number of Mod Envelopes and LFOs.
- Better Wavesequencing style (*)
- Audio Looper layer, which samples any incoming audio signal and let you play like an instrument. (*)
- Multi Layer with the option to select the type of layer:
Sample PlayerWave SequencerDrawable OSCSuper OSC3 OSC (with Noise generator)Audio LooperGroove Sequencer (not included yet)- Per Layer ARP and also a Master ARP.
- 16 Steps Polyphonic Sequencer per layer, to be used as a Modulation Source on the Mod Matrix.
- Per Layer Key Switching and Sticky Keys options.
- Per Layer Modulation Matrix.
- New Interface and Skin.

I have always been curious, but that is where it stayed. I am down loading the demo and I will play around with it over the week end.

I am guessing a lot of the content is extra to this price??
Edit a lot of content included and there is some more that can be purchased.

Same here. Curiosity, but the cat's still alive.

I had an earlier version (6, I think). It was easy enough to use, but it got left behind on my old computer because I had never found a use for it. To be fair, that was mainly because it's better-suited to certain electronic genres that are far removed from my own preferences. Listen to the demos. If that's the kind of music you create, then it's easily worth the 25 bucks.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I have v6. Seems marketed more as a rompler than a synth. It's no longer on my systems.

Don't know if the new engine is a killer advance over earlier versions, but stopped buying upgrades with ver 5.

Looks like most of the libraries are the same as those included way back then.

Not a bad Rompler, but strange attrition like others, it just sorta drifted off the map and the gigabytes of samples never reinstalled with computer upgrades. Kontakt and others taking the front row. Maybe left a niche gem behind in retrospect.

For 25 dollars, this is definitely worth the investment if you want another rompler. Many cool sounds. Stab in the gut thinking about how much I paid for ver 4 and the upgrades.

One cult classic under the radar by the Wusik guys is the EVE rompler. Saw that they include maybe some limited library from EVE.

If you are a Mellotron freak, you got to have EVE. No dynamics beyond velocity, like loading a soundfont file. However, some really really nice mellotron files, hybrids. Extends the keyboard range of the original mellotrons credible above and below the original limits (like IK Sampletron).

Digging under the couch for lost quarters. Then will have to figure out whether to spend the money on Wusik 8 or beer.
