A related question if I may: I had DP 1.2 from Sonar 8.5, so when upgrading to X1 (by download) I used the "upgrade to DP 1.5" exe that was part of the download (as instructed). But apparently, I only chose the 64 bit option. So I have DP1.5x64 along with DP1.2x32 which was retained in the 32 bit tree. The latter gives the screwy "wrong registration" message, presumably because it sees only the newer (64 bit) value in the registry (as implied by this thread's discussion). I now realize I want DP1.5x32 (for use with a 32 bit app), while keeping DP1.5x64 exactly as is (for use in X1ePx64). So the question is: If I go back and reexecute the DP1.5 upgrade exec, this time choosing the 32 bit option, will it screw up - or, yikes, *replace* - the (properly functioning & properly registered) 64 bit install? It's not an either/or situation? Just hoping someone might be able to confirm it'll work ok before I try it. Thanks, Ron

It was so long ago, that I honestly can't recall, but was nothing that was going to make me go into my registry to fix! A few DPro sounds which I think I had most of anyway, but I don't use it that much, and sure there a few other "little things", but after a quick look, was no hesitation in not having it.rkl22 I can offer nothing, sorry, I don't mess around with the stuff, that I know if there is a chance in hell of screwing up, I will, hence my decision in discarding the additional content to avoid all the headaches. To those of you, who have more computer knowledge than me(everyone), it was no problem for most. There was an ongoing thread about it when it first came out, but good luck finding by search, sorry once again! I think they should have made it very clear, that you would have to tweak your PC, to get the right Dim. Pro to begin with, but since you only had 1.2, you were sorta forced into it, I will stop now, because of course, I can be of no help, but wish you luck!

I know this is old, but if it helps anyone....just found this- http://www.cakewalk.com/s...ditional_Content.aspx, it explains how to get additional content if coming from 8.5, and you already have Dim. Pro 1.5, without having to go through registry changes, not much there anyway! Hope it helps, a lot easier IMHO!

Should this not be included in documentation for future X1 upgraders? Imagine the headaches, and time saved!

To the OP: I was told on the phone by a cake rep that "additional content" was more DP sounds. To the others: I too think the whole DimPro/Rapture debacle s*cks.... Instead of fixing what they have, they go and make a ProoooooooooChannel. Same with audiosnap, v-vocal, mute automation bugs, track selection bug, etc etc etc........

Sorry, didn't realize that link did not take you directly here! There are new artist demo projects included with the SONAR X1 Additional Content installer. These demo projects can be obtained by extracting the files from the 05_SONAR_X1_Producer_Additional_Content.exe extractor. A "SONAR X1 Content Setup Files" folder will be extracted to the specified location. This folder will contain a sub-folder titled "Demo Projects" containing the artist demo projects. If you wish to use these demo projects, you can manually copy them from there. There is a new "Expansion Pack 3" available for Dimension Pro containing new bass programs from Digital Sound Factory. This new expansion pack is also included in the Free Dimension Pro Expansion Packs 1-3 installation. You can find this by clicking here. If you perform the above steps, then there is no need to run the SONAR X1 Additional Content installation. Sorry can't read, but get my point.

Is this correct? Edit: Millzy says that wasn't sufficient. And as I recall, updating like that still made the Adittional Content disk unable to install.

That link certainly has an article with the correct/appropriate topic. I'd try it and see how it goes. :)

Sorry, that's what I had in post #37, just can't read it because of the cluster$#@! Firefox and this forum make, but that's what worked for me, no problems. That's why I posted so many times(sorry), was just trying to point in that direction, apologize if made confusion worse, I just know it was an easy install for me that way! Good luck!

(And, incidentally, multiple instances of the DP 1.5 x32 VST work fine in Band in a Box, a 32bit app, running under Win7x64.) -Ron
