X1 Crashing Over and Over While Comping a Vocal Track

This is a first for me...

I'm working on a song that I've been using to test/learn X1 and I've just finished recording the lead vocal. I've recorded 10 tracks (looped recording) as layers in a single track and I'm editing the takes I want/don't want... so I'm constantly locating, muting/un-muting clips and splitting/un-splitting etc...

It seems that X1 is having some trouble keeping up with me and after I've worked for 20-30 minutes, it crashes a visual runtime lib of some kind (I believe it was C++) and locks/crashes X1...

I've now repeated this procedure 4 times and did a full system re-boot between the second and third crash...

yeah layers is really buggy in general. Ive crashed while editing layers a few times as well, and also, the clips dont like to move and lasso well..

They are supposed to be addressing layers a lot int his update coming. Hopefully they get things fixed!

Yeah... I know about the lasso problems... and I do my best to remember never to use it in X1a... and I've submitted a few related problem reports regarding strange behavior when working on clips/layers... I do hope this is of primary importance and fixed in X1b, but there are so many issues... I don't know how many of them they'll be able to fix within such a short time...

This is one of the problems with changing their UI... Now many things that were problem free are new problems to be fixed/resolved all over... I guess that buys them future so that people hang on waiting for the fixes?

I don't believe they intended that, but I'm sure they were aware of it...

Just a quick note - we've fixed a number of V-Vocal bugs in X1b.

Edit: Specifically for your use case, looping a V-Vocal clip can cause instability.
I hope this helps you find a workaround in the meanwhile.

Thanks Zyler... But my situation doesn't include any v-vocal issues. These tracks are raw... Just recorded and editing lines/phrases/words to compile a master vocal...

I sure hope this gets fixed... I can't work like this crashing every 20minutes/half hour doing something I must do constantly...
