X1 Expanded: Import Audio seems to be up the spout

Import Audio seems determined not to import things the way X1c certainly did

I've been sent a stereo stem bass left, drum loop right

I try to import it using File>Import>Audio (as you might)

The "import as mono tracks" option is selected and all I get is one mono track rather than it imported as two mono tracks (which is what it used to do).  If it isn't selected I getthe track in stereo as is.  Which isn't the idea.

So I look in Help and in Help it tells me in File>Import>Audio to select the Stereo Split option.  There isn't one.

What's going on??  Is there a work around??

I think the "Stereo Split" reference in the Help must just be a carryover from an older version. "Import as mono tracks" option is working here. Maybe some issue with the file format?

It's a repeatable issue with different file formats mp3, wav of differing sample rates etc.

No really, it's fine everyone, I found a great workaround with Channel Tools.  In the end it didn't really matter!

    Thanks for all the help!
