X1 Expanded suffers from Tourettes????
OMG! Please tell me that the "feature" , when in console view, that makes the selected tracks in X1 jump around like a Ritalin laden kid with tourettes can be disabled!!! Seriously, this is just madness in a production environment. Every time you select a track in the console view to work on, the track jumps completely to the left or right of the onscreen mixer and you have to chase down its location to confirm your changes!!! This is really nuts. I cannot image what possible purpose this serves, save for live control surface or something of that nature. But really, in a mix invironment, this is just riduculous...please, any advice to dissable this would be greatly appreciated!!!

Eh? What are you seeing exactly? Whatever it is doesn't sound like normal behaviour.

I have never heard that. You should post your system specs and your hardware. J

PrntScrn or Print Screen buttons on your computer will capture the image of what you are experiencing and using Photobucket to tranfer the screen capture here might be the trick. I've never seen that happen here.either.

Thanks for the responces, Sorry for not being more specific. When you have the console view open ( rather the Pro channel is enabled or not ) and you are clicking on a channel to move the volume slider or make a pan change ect, as you are clicking from channel to channel, X1 will 'reposition' the visible tracks so that the track that you initially clicked on is repositioned to the first visible track on the lefthand side of the console view mixer. The console view ( fully expanded ) is my screenset number 2 and my track view is number 1. This only seems to happen durring playback and not when the transport is stoped. Then the position of the console view mixer stays put. So to summerise, while clicking on a track in the console view, the selected track will instantly be slammed to the leftmost side of the visable console view window. Very disorienting to say the least. This is an audio only system. No mods, hacks, ect. Win7 64 with X1 expanded. Also, this did not happen before expanded FWIW.

Is there a feature in X1 expanded that causes the selected track to "update' its position like when you click on an EQ knob in a plugin and it 'jumps' to the current mouse position, that sort of thing?? I would have posted a screen shot but that would only show the console view tracks in a different position on the screen, not revealing anything out of the ordinary...its the repositioning thats the problem. The only thing I can think of is that somewhere X1 expanded must have some config file option ( much like 'rewind to now position' when transport is stopped ) that 'repositions' the focused track. When the console view is fully expanded you still can really on see the first 10-15 tracks if you have the Busses showing as well. 40+ plus track project with 5-6 busses feeding a master buss. Pretty common stuff here.

Hi Keysman, I cannot reproduce your issue and have never seen this type of behavior! Reboot and try again. I can't even make Sonar do what you are describing! Rimshot

Thanks Rimshot, Ok, have determined that it will do it with the transport stopped. The only formula i can provide is what seems to be occuring... Put the console view inside of the multidock by itself ( no other views ) drag the top of the view bar to fully expand the multidock view so the console view fills the project screen. position the view to include all the busses and the first visable tracks in the project. click on something in the busses area. Then click and drag the tracks view position bar at the bottom of the console view so you can see more track further into the project than just the first few that are shown. And after a few attempts at this procedure, the 'focused' track will jump to the left hand side ( and sometimes the righthand side ) of the visable track window in the expanded Console View!! P.. This is after several reboots and program restarts. it really seems to be something in the way the app treats the 'focused' track at the moment. We do almost all of our mixing in the console view as opposed to the track view so maybe this is something that exposed with use YMMV.

Keysman, I did get a track to jump. However, it took many clicks, scrolling and switching between tracks and busses to see this and I can't easily reproduce it. You should report it. I never have seen this happen with the way I configure my console view. Thanks. Rimshot

I have a 21" LCD monitor. I use a screenset for just the console view and I usually have 13 wide tracks showing on the left (or 25 or so in narrow view)with about 8 busses on the right and the main bus on the very right. So my main view does not flop around too much.

We are using a 46" 1920 x 1080p monitor here at the studio and with the console view fully expanded it shows the first 10-11 tracks and eight busses. Tracks narrowed, its about the first 30. Even with the Tracks and busses narrowed, selecting a Pro Channel one of the busses really causes the tracks to literally 'jump up' briefly. I think this is just an exagerated version of that little reposition or jump as X1 makes it's screen redraw.

I tried like hell but cannot reporoduce what youare experiencing. Most phones can record short video clips. Can you do that so everyone can see the issue? Just an idea. Shouldn't need more than 5 to 10 seconds according to your desription.

Ok Guys, Was able to get a quick video example of the issue. With the Console view fully expanded in the Multidock, clicking back and forth between the Busses area and the tracks area, X1 will jump and 'reposition' immediately the track to the first visiable left hand sid eof the screen. Here is the link: http://youtu.be/jTeR0_4ymvo This may be a bit difficult to see but the track that was clicked on before the view jumped was the farthest visable track to the right of the tracks before the busses start and then jumped to the left. It seems to be something in the way that X1 redraws the new video image after a click is recieved. Note that this issue was not present in the version before expanded ( X1c ) Ok, boss says back to work, will post more later on. Thanks in advance..
