X1 LE vs. Essential

I currently have Sonar 8.5 LE and am thinking of upgrading to X1 LE or Essential.

Is the X1 LE the same as X1 Essential ?

I am mostly interested in effects.

Thanks,
Matt

By those specs they don't look identical at all.  Now that I have just purchased LE can I upgrade to essentials ?  Or what do I have to download effects wise to make LE equal to essentials ?

    thank you willie jones :)

okay is the mp3 plugin included with essentials?

as that is the way i will go.

looking at the manual it appears essentials and all sonar x1 versions come with 30 day trial only?

weird yet it's included with LE.

the whole upgrade process is somewhat misleading with a $59 email that turns into $79?

I've always thought the LE-versions only come as OEMs with hardware, and that you can't buy them at all. Well...you live, you learn :o)

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Yes you can, you can find upgrade pricing in the cakewalk store.  All registered LE users qualify for "Download for any Registered Cakewalk Customers (Including SONAR LE)" price option

No the mp3 activator is not included with any version of SONAR X1.  We do not include this with our products because not everyone will use it and we don't own the license to the mp3 format so we'd prefer not raise the price to include it in the price.  However, it is forward compatible so if you purchase it for one product it will work with all Cakewalk products

Sorry for any confusion about the upgrade pricing - we have different pricing depending on which product you're coming from.  Currently $59USD is the lowest available upgrade pricing for X1 Essential.
