I am so happy to run Sonar Producer 8.5.3, to get my own sound, not the one iconized by Pro Strip or Pro Channel, not sure what the name is, and lazy to check it out. I do not want my music hold the Cakewalk sound flavor. I want my music deliver my sound design, and I am very happy with the tools I have inside Sonar Producer 8.5.3, Home Studio 7XL, Music Creator 5 (that I beleive should be free, so others can reproduce my Sonar-ing pass easy) and a number of free items from Cakewalk (as well as some sound expansions for Dimension and all Sonar 8.5 Elite packs)

"I'm a bit amazed by how many have decided that X1 is the buggiest Sonar ever, and a rushed beta, and bad coding, and on and on, only to read those users haven't upgraded nor installed it. Really trying to understand that point of view - but I don't."
I have spent a couple of days browsing these forums and have come to the conclusion that there are a lot of weirdos in here. It's like the group therapy in One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest. The more posts the more mentally ill. Listen to me on this: with only a couple of posts, I'm one of the sanest guys in here. The guys who are berating X1 without even trying it are idiots. Many of the most frequent posters I have pegged as "fat, comic store" type guys, like the one off the Simpsons. Sarcastic, nasty guys who have no positive comments and no useful contribution to make. If I was a Cakewalk worker poring through these columns I would not be offended- I would be pissing myself laughing.

The trolls have arrived ! haha. Mr.Shermann, how blind you are to the fact that those who have not bought X1 yet form their initial ( and I stress *initial*) impressions on user experiences, users who have bought and installed X1 and have found bugs and crashes, which are forgivable for a first version of practically a new DAW, but what is not forgivable is the fact that certain features have been taken out, or re-designed to be more difficult to use, etc. So before you unfold your ignornat musing on us all, think, read, then think again, then go for a walk, and then write. What you wrote is misjudged and misplaced. Cakewalk "workers" do indeed go through these "columns" but I sincerely hope that instead of laughing at valid concern expressed by users, they stop in their tracks and think what has gone wrong with X1 and address all issues. In fact, Brendon from Cakewlak has already popped in this thread. I'm now waiting for him to address my question from the previous page. Now, you have to realise that some of the heat X1 receives is due to the fact that there are profesionnal users who depend on Sonar. Now, they find themsleves in a situation where the workstation they have been using for many years has received ill-thought re-design and has lost certain features or has complicated the operation of other features. Can you appreciate that?

Perhaps (he said, putting his head into the bee's nest) the answer is that the best use of this forum is for commenting on issues, rather than people, including Sonar developers. For learning (and occasionally teaching if one is lucky) rather than self-aggrandizement through bashing. What someone says has no more or less intrinsic value because of who they are. You do realize that negative words expressed here never go away, right?

Your sound consists of your expressions. If you play a guitar, your sound will be linked to that guitar. If you use another instrument, your sound will be linked to that instrument. If you use a software instrument ( most of which are very changable in voice ), that software instrument will be linked to your sound. If you're using presets in software instruments, you are using Cakewalks and the instruments "sound flavor". You can create your "own sound" with the instrument.

@OP: I have to agree to some extent. Now, in fairness I have not installed the "a" update (though I've expressed discontent) and the number one "non owner/stirrer" is no longer with us (at least for a while) so it's not been that bad lately. There are several "are you kidding" things that puzzle me but by and large it's been running here pretty well from the night they launched........and I am NOT a lucky guy! lol
