Hello!

I installed X-1 last night, did the updates to "D", opened a project, pressed <spacebar>, but can't get past beat #2 of any project. I trid starting at various parts of the projects, but same thing.

My specs are in the signature.

Thanx!

So that someone else might be able to help, try adding info: e.g. your OS, your sound card, and the indications you see when Sonar can't get past 2 beats. Does the audio engine drop out, does it hang, does it give a message? Does it behave differently when you disable all the plugins? Which plugins do you use? VSTi's or just audio? Did you use one of the included projects or one of your own & from which Sonar version?

yes i agree a little more info is needed to order to help you with this issue.
is it the audio engine that stops?

try moving your buffers in queue or your interface latency slider..
if youve got one?..i dont know, are you using an interface?
    more info.

you know, its nice when you  finish a thread you started with
"all set thanks" or "thanks for the help"
    or even explaining what happen,

this way the next guy who is searching for a problem similar to yours isnt railroaded with a dead end and no solution.

just try to keep that in mind.

hope everything is up and running.

Sound like a sound card issue or a sound card driver issue or a sound card driver setting issue to me.

    Hello, again!

Thanx for the responses. First. let me apologise for the incomplete list of specs in the signature. Secondly, I'm sure I clicked on the "eMail notification" box, but I didn't see any notification of your responses.

I had just done a re-install and come here, seen your suggestions, and attempted to try them. X-1 still freezes when I make any changes to any settings.

In the ASIO panel, both the latency slider and the buffers indicator are greyed out. I changed the buffer size in the ASIO pannel for the DIGI 002, but when I O.K. the change, X-1 freezes.

I managed to export the audio files so as to work in ProTools, but after each one, X-1 freezes. I tried to save the project as a MIDI file, so as to continue in ProTools, but on importing, I get a message saying, "Unexpected end of stream encountered".

    Still trying!

    Thanx again for the responses.

Reprofiling your audio device only works for windows drivers ie WDM n MME not ASIO.

The reason SONAR does this when you first install is that it loads the Windows audio drivers by default rather than ASIO drivers.  Windows doesn't, infancy can't use ASIO drivers.

Did you install the updates to X1 up to X1D? Are you getting any error messages?

Yes, I'm running x-1 D. No error messages, it just freezes.

I remember Cakewalk 8 didn't work for me. Seven and nine worked, on the same computer. I have no idea why that happened.

    Thanx for the responses, folks!

O.K. There seems to be an issue between X-1 and the DIGI 002. I switched it off, anf X-1 is playing through the Realtek soundcard in the computer, in MME mode.

Now, to get the DIGI 002 and X-1 to get along ....

O.K., people! I'm cautiously optimistic! I now have "Driver Mode" set to "WDM/KS", and X-1, Ooops! X1, is playing through the DIGI 002.

Multi-processor engine is selected, and all cores are registering.

    Thanx again!
