X1 Producer and SSD/Ez Drummer not working

Machine Specs:
XP Pro (32 bit), SP3
Sonar X1 Producer
2 Ghz Ram

I currently have a midi track w/ MIDI data in it which was recorded using V Drums. I am now attempting (as I did easily in Sonar 7) to hear the midi data through either EZ Drummer or Steven Slate Drums, but nothing plays. I can see that the master volume indicator is moving and it seems as though I should be hearing drums coming through my outs, but they are not :(. Sonar X1 is new to me and is a little frustrating b/c Cakewalk moved a bunch of stuff around and now I am not familiar with the interface. Nonetheless, I am unable to get any sounds to come out of a midi channel when using EZ Drummer or SSD. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
median

Did you assign your audio (synth) track to your master out? Also, did you wait for all the samples to load and is the midi data set correctly? ie. the midi data is mapped to the correct notes for EZ Drummer?

I'm pretty sure that those things were assigned correctly but then again the interface has changed from Sonar 7. So I'm a little uneasy in my confidence level. I was hoping for some step by step instructions.

    Check the following

    1. Your MIDI track has it's output port set to EZDrummer or the Steve Slate Drums and it's volume is up
    2. The EZDrummer or Steve Slate Drums audio track has its output port set to your master out, either directly or via your master buss, and its volume is up.
    3. You don't have any SOLO or MUTE buttons active anywhere.
    4. Your Master buss volume is up
    5. Your interface volume is up.

If all of the above is correct you should hear the drums

From what I can see, I have done all of those things you listed. Well, maybe. The MIDI track has its output set to EZDrummer and volume is up. Nothing is MUTED or SOLOed. Master Buss is up. Interface is up. But, I don't know if the actual audio track is set to master out b/c that "interface" has changed from 7 to X1. I cannot see the audio tracks outs. I don't know where to look b/c I am used to Sonar 7. Dang, I wish they didn't change this stuff.

    10 MINUTES LATER (UPDATE):

I found it! It works now. The MIDI track actually was NOT set correctly. Thanks guys!

Btw, I keep wondering why my midi track is always redlining. It doesn't sound distorted but if I attempt to turn down the volume it just keeps redlining. Any reason why this would happen? I don't know if this is a bad thing. Thanks again! I am having fun now.
