X1 Studio crushes

Running Windows XP, 4G RAM, Audiophil 2496 sound-card, Gigaplayer as plug-in, crushing very frequently;"fatal error occurred" and most of the time the work is lost. Have been in touch with Support, got advises to optimize the computer, followed the advise, crushes are less frequent, but: Every time when mixing down MIDI, using Console view to change volume of trucks, after a few bars have an envelope, Sonar X1 crushes. When I manage to have a few tracks with envelopes, and try to move the nodes to fine tune the volume, X1 "fatal error " is there. Why? I do have enough memory, my computer was optimized for audio, hard drive de-fraged, no internet connection, only MIDI, I am desperate, thinking to delete X1 and load up one of the old Cakewalk programs and live with it. Can anyone help, before I do this?

What does it crush. I would love to see it crush something.

Wait a sec, you mean CRash! Don't yah??

    What are you pc specs?
What windows architecture are you using? 32bit or 64bit?
What sonar Version are you using 32bit or 64bit?
Does X1 even support windows XP?
Do you have the latest X1 update?
Does Giga Player support 64bit, if your using 64bit?
Is giga player fully updated to the latest version?

Just a note. Your pc is very very outdated. In tech terms its a dinosaur.

The Gigastudio family of programs haven't been updated in years, and were not known for excessive stability, even in their prime.

Make sure you have the latest driver for the audiophile.
Run a memory test using memtest or other utility. You may have a faulty memory chip.
Is there an error message when it crashes?

Ain't that the truth! It was always tedious loading GS full of orchestra samples rewired in Sonar. I didn't even consider trying to install it in X1.

I'd also start by checking for midi or video issues. Then memory, power supply.
