X1 Trial...

Hi everyone. Hope I do this the right way. I'm a long time reader of this forum, but this is actually the first time I join and post.
I'm working with Sonar 8,5 Producer, and I'm just wondering if there can be some conflict if I download the Trial version of X1?
I mean, that if I remove the Trial version later, it won't mess up my 8,5 drivers..?

Thank you for your help
Peter

    welcome to the forum,
it really shouldnt effect anything.if at all the trial it self might not work as well because you have 8.5 installed.you will hear mixed reviews on how some have said they dont work well together, and others say theres no problem at all.
i myself have two other cakewalk applications installed behind x1 and havent had a problem.
what kind of soundcard do you have and what kind of operating system and specs do you have?
why i ask is because someone else can chme in with the same set up as you and tell you how its working for them.
but to answer your question:theres no guarantee it wont effect it or it will.
like anysoftware that shares programfiles, theres always a risk of some configuration blends.
my advise is to set up a restore point or image point.then you will be able to go back to your settings if need be.
    good luck

It didn't seem to mess up my system.
I did have to go and manually delete a couple of Sonar X1 Trial folders after uninstalling.

I tried it on my laptop, and not my main DAW.

    EDIT:
Needed to add that I have seveal versions of Sonar installed on the system including Sonar 8.5.3 Producer.

You can create a restore point before installing the trial version.
Also, if you work on your own projects from previous versions of Sonar, be sure to work on copies of the project just in case.

Hi, and thank you for your replies.
    My specs are:
    Windows Vista (x64)-intel i7 @2.67ghz-8Gb ram
    Edirol UA-25EX
    Sonar 8,5 Producer

I'll see what I do. My setup at the moment is working perfectly for me. Loving Sonar 8,5. But X1 looks cool though :-)
    Thanks again, chuckebaby and kevo...
