X1 automatically inserts "send" on new tracks

Strange issue that has been going on for a while, I just keep dealing with it. But I want to know if there's something I'm doing wrong, or perhaps a setting I can change? If I insert a new track, it automatically selects the last bus as a send/ return. Hope that makes sense. For example - the song I'm working on now has 8 or 10 busses (guitars, drums, lead vocals, etc). The last one on the list is "long delay". Well - every time I create a new track, it will automatically insert "long delay" as a send. Drives me nuts. I just created 8 new tracks and had to manually remove it from each one.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this? It's not just this project, it happens all the time. And it's not just X1D - it has happened with previous versions.

Thank you.

    Not sure about the sends...

But when you insert a new track (audio) sonar will direct the output to the default buss. You can right click on any buss to make it the (new) default. A new project's default buss is the Master Buss.

That's it. My apologies - my memory was failing me. For some reason I was thinking it was the sends, but it was indeed the outputs that was changing. And now I know why.

    Thank you!

I'm constantly reminded of how much we have to keep track of while trying to get the music out. :)

I agree 100%. And with me and X1 it seems like I learn something new every day. And I'll add this - almost every time I've found something odd with X1's behavior it turns out to be my fault, not X1. I really enjoy using it. Granted, if not for this forum I would probably spend a lot of time beating my head against the wall!

And BTW - I went to your site and spent some time with some of your songs. I enjoyed them, David. Great feel  and well mixed stuff!

Wow ... thanks for this info! I had this happen to me a few weeks ago in one project and had no idea what was going on. I guess I'd somehow inadvertantly made my reverb bus the default ... it was kind of unsettling.

I had created the new bus and then dragged the reverb effect from a track over to the bus. Maybe that's what caused it? I'll experiment with it tonight now that I know what to look for. Thanks again.

I'm glad that helped. I too had a problem where all new tracks were pointing to a Flange Buss after some buss rearranging. I was happy to find the cure.
