X1 doesn't seem to like Midi Yoke

Midi yoke is a program that creates "virtual" midi ports to route between windows programs that support MIDI. http://www.midiox.com/myoke.htm

I don't use it much, but I've occasionally found it useful to route things through the companion program "Midi ox" to do some advanced filtering. So I leave it installed in the background in case I need to call it up.

Of course with 8.5 everything worked fine.

But I just noticed that in X1, when I have midi Yoke installed, I cannot set any of my other MIDI interfaces (I have a TC electronic studiokonnekt 48 and an M-audio axiom USB) as the MIDI input to a track. If I try to select it, it gets set to "None" instead. No error messages or anything, just silent refusal to set the input of the track. Funny enough, setting it to the midi yoke adaptor directly works fine.

Also setting it to "midi omni" actually captures the midi events from all my interfaces no problem. I just can't set it directly to an individual interface other than the yoke (and some times I like to work with something other than "all inputs omni").

If I uninstall midi yoke, the problem goes away.

Can anyone else confirm this?

I have used MIDI Yoke in the past with Drumagog and found that when it was checked as a MIDI port in SONAR's preferences it created problems with certain soft synths, namely some of the KORG Legacy stuff. It also doesn'twork in the 64 bit version of SONAR was turned into a bit of deal breaker for me. There's another application out there that I found on the Drumagog forums that works better and is much more up to date. MIDI Yoke hasn't had any updates since about '07 or so. I'm away from DAW but will try to find the name of it.
