X1 inserting .wav file from browser places it way way back into the project, not now time

Anyone know a better way? or how to fix? - Shawn

    Is it a broadcast wav, in which case deselect "import broadcast waves at their timestamp"  in preferences-file-audiodata?

    Edit > Preferences > File | Audio Data uncheck "Always Import Broadcast Waves At Their Timestamp"
