X1 screen questions

I am new to X1, i have used the MC products 1, 2003, 3, 4, and 5. I downloaded X1 essentials to give it a fair try, as I can't beat the upgrade price $69 I also have Reaper 4, and PG music's RealBand. These are used for different reasons. RealBand for track bed construction, due to the RealTracks features. But i like having a more feature rich program to take these tracks to do mix down add vocal tracks, automate panning and volume, as well as effects. While i like Reaper a lot, i have always been a cake fan. I started with Home studio 3 on floppy disk. Here are my questions:

1. I find the opening screen a bit cluttered, and I am used to the old views where the tracks view was larger. What do some of you do to setup the screen so that is is either less cluttered or more viewer friendly.

2. Are there some short cuts to make the mixer view go and come easily?

3. what are some cool cusomization ideas

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

If you want see nothing but the Track view, press (all at the same time or individually)... B (for Browser), C (for Control Bar), I (for Inspector), and D (for MultiDock) to quickly toggle everything closed (except the Track view).

To initially show the Console view, press Alt+2 or choose Views > Console view. This will display it in the MultiDock, which you can then quickly toggle by pressing D.

In a word screensets. Set up your main view the way you like it and then set up different screensets to help you in the way you like to work. Some ideas. If you have dual monitors you can combine some of these -

    Console Buss only view
    Console Tracks only view
    Track View Tracks only
    Track View Buss only
    MIDI tracks only view
    Audio tracks only view
    PRV zoomed in
    PRV zoomed out
    Step Sequencer View
    Staff view
Comping view (Maxed out TV with the inspector on a toggle)

Screensets limited only by your imagination...........

Ha! Thanks, Mario! I appreciate it. Yeah, I like printed books too. Not only are they informative, but they look great all lined-up nicely on the bookshelves in the studio.
