X1 sounds better?

So I opened up some of my projects in X1.
It seems to me they sound better.
Is that in my head, like thinking that pint of Guinness tasted better in Dublin than it does in Cleveland?

Hmm, it might be the placebo effect. We haven't changed the audio engine in terms of how it sounds in X1, so I don't know what to tell ya.

Yeah dunno Norrie.... I thought the same thing initially and not so sure really coz nothing indicates it to be actually true... apart from Seth's placebo mention. I thought mixes sounded a little more 'open' than under 8.5 but that could be a lack of wax in my ears this week.

To be honest I have to think that X1 is so much tighter under the Windows 7 integration that it simply 'runs' better. The things I had as issues with the 8.5 upgrade are no where to be seen and X1 is honestly the best upgrade I have had to date with Sonar. I'm sure most of the doom sayers have (in general) DAW issues as they are installing onto (mostly anyway) DAWs that have been in service for some time with no doubt existing issues that just won't fly under X1. But this is a generalization of course but after selling, repairing and building computers for quite some years, there are a few patterns that always emerge.

Anyways, it must sound better simply because it IS better.

    Cheers.
