X1 to X2 Upgrade Question

When upgrading from X1 Producer to X2 Producer, does it install on top of X1 (and replace it) or is it a separate program?

Thanks.

    They are separate installs.

Do you have to reinstall ALL your plugins?  I have Komplete 8 and Omnisphere (100+gb) plus others and really don't want to have to reinstall all my plugins etc.

I haven't read or seen anything about migrating, just new features and getting to know X2.

If you are asking, does upgrading SONAR require you to reinstall third-party software; the answer is NO.

Just wondering, when I installed X2 and I clicked on the advance tab, I saw a bunch of effects that is no installed by default, I remembered seeing some delay/reverb (not the regular Sonitus set).

Are these for older projects compatibility, superseded by the default selected effects ?

Mostly included for backward compatibility but there are those that still prefer to use them in current projects. They are 32bit DX effects not supported in 64bit SONAR.

Has there been any feedback on how X2 runs on WINXP?

I recently installed X1 and want to get current with X2.  I'm still running WINXP SP3 and wonder if it will work. I haven't spent much time getting to know X1 (from 8.53 Producer) and wonder if the smart thing to do would be to just move on to X2.  How different are they?

I'm also thinking maybe it's time to take the plunge and get a new PC running WIN7.  Would this require a new audio interface?  I'm using a Delta 44 PCI card. Thanks.
