Wow....27 views in 3 minutes and not one person who has used it?

I actually used it to quantize a bass track and it worked great! I am looking forward for ways to use it now!

I'm testing it as I write, and so far, it seems to work.  I don't have too much experience with it, but seems to be doing ok.

quantizing multi track drums and extracting tempos from drum tracks that where not recorded to a click, also set measure beat to now time...

    teegos post sounds promising...

even if some one would try the audio snap tutorial/walkthrough from cake tv, it couldnt be done on x1a...

Sorry bout the bad typing im on a cell phone and out of town..

I was really excited about x1 when i first herd of it in november, but since i mostly record whole bands with sometimes not so great drummers i really need audio snap to work, so i havnt really been using it sincei cant quantize and extract tempos..

So im really excited to see if x1b fixed it.... i wish iwas home....

You know, I used it tonight on a project and I realized it's the first time I've used ANY audiosnap since X1 came out. Everything fine so far. The big thing is that there's no longer a "Show Transients" button on the Audiosnap palette, it's accessed through the tool HUD. That took me a while to figure out.

I have multi-track drums (8 tracks), but don't use audio snap much.

Tell me exactly what to do step by step and I will test it and let you know.

In my experience AudioSnap quantize feature is working. That's all I used so far in X1b.

Quantizing and Set Measure/Beat At Now were promised to be fixed, and are. Set Project from Clip (a.k.a. extracting tempos) has worked all along, but almost always takes a fair amount of tuning of transient and beat markers in the clip to get a good result. It should work well with a well-defined drum track.

Hey brundlefly, may I ask: how's your overall experience with X1b, so far?

I hope you are seeing a significant improvement. :)

Update: I've got several problems with transients. Clips not showing them, displaying strange behavior trying to show them. I'm rebooting now to see if frustrating crapitude had anything to do with it.

I haven't put in enough time with it to know how comfortable I'm going to be making a permanent move away from 8.5.3, but the fixed bug list does seem to have addressed the majority of issues that made it frustrating to do everyday things.

Even with all these bugs fixed, however, I am still not happy with the drab, low-contrast, monochromatic look and feel of Skylight, and since I gave up on X1a and went back to 8.5.3 for two months, I'm now behind the curve on mastering the interface.

Benstat's work has great potential to relieve a lot of this, but I'm not really in the mood to spend hours tweaking colors, shortcuts and toolbar layout, and I'll never recover the information and control density (a.k.a. "clutter") in the TV that it was possible to get with 8.5.3.

I liked 8.5.3 and was not really in the market for a drastically new look and workflow. The way I work, I don't really expect X1 to make me significantly more productive in the long run. At best, I'll get back to the comfort level and proficiency I had with 8.5.3. And I'll probably never recover the hours it takes to do that.

Overall I've found this upgrade to be more of a burden than a benefit, not to mention the effect it has had on my enjoyment of the forum, which has been severely degraded by all the venomous posting of late.

I'll save this for tomorrow, but am indeed looking forward to recording some guitar parts and seeing how it works. I think the groove 3 vid has a section on this......now that it works it might be worth checking out.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry it's not your cup of tea, but maybe it will grow on you. I mean maybe after some time, you will come to be OK with the new UI and overall difference of X1 from previous versions.

Got to admit X1 struck me as an entirely new app and I approached it as such. And it still takes some getting used to for me. The customization of the toolbars and amount of functions available to set to the toolbars in previous versions were two things X1 seems to be inferior to, but overall I like X1 better than previous versions, yet implementing in the Control Bar the sort of customization seen in 8.5, will make for an imrovement and will be welcomed by me. :)
