X1a - Advantage of REX2 over WAV24bit?

Greetings,

I'm looking for some Metal / groove Drum loops. I found some, (betaMonkey) but you have to choose which format.
Using Sonar X1a is there an Advantage to choose REX2 over 24bit WAV?

You have trigger control over each transient for one with REX. A 24 wav, you are stuck only to time stretch the audio, which can produce inperfections like wobbling and artifacts compared to the source material.
