X1a - Staff View Printing Disabled
Hi Folks,
I'm trying to print staff on X1a and both print preview & print are disabled. I searched the forum and found out that undocking & unfloating the staff view window solved the issue. But it is not working for me. I did undock & unfloat the staff view. I'm using CutePDF as printer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Verified. I cannot print out the Staff View either. Just as you say, Print and Print Preview are grayed out. What I could do is save the project as a MIDI Format 1 file, and open it up in my notation program. So, all is not completely lost. ps I would love for X1b to bring back the note value icons in the Staff View.

Try left clicking on the box in top left corner of top blue bar (in undocked view) and select "Disable Floating"

Me too. Until I read this http://www.cakewalk.com/support/faq/sr_faq.aspx#16 You have to actually drag the staff view out of the multidock, rather than undock the multidock with the staff view in it. You'll know when you're successful when the staff view window has a little treble clef in the top left corner. See the FAQ picture. Now left-click on this icon and choose "disable floating". Should be good to print now. Cheers, Peter.

Hi lorneyb2,
The problem was, my staff view was undocked and unfloated to begin with. Anyways, I tried all combinations (redocking, dragging, etc) and since CW has confirmed that they are working on addressing this issue, I'm going to let it go till I get the next update. For now, I can open the project in 8.5x and print the tracks.

You actually have to drag the personal perspective on multidock rather than loosen multidock with the personal view in it. You know when you are successful when the window of view has a small key treble in the top left corner. See the photo FAQ. Now, left click on this icon and choose.
