Use the Inspector. There you can do all sorts of stuff.

And what's nice is you can keep the Inspector open while clicking on different clips to quickly change clip attributes. It's much more quick and efficient than the old right-click Clip Properties dialog box.

One initial drawback is that the inspector is docked off to the side, whereas the Properties dialog box appeared closer to your mouse right-click.  That can mean a lot of mousing back and forth between selecting a clip and going over to the inspector.

However, one way to overcome this is to simply undock the inspector and keep it in a "floating" state nearby.  Then it becomes really efficient with respect to mouse movements and clicking.

I'd like to work this way more with the playback controls, which one could do in 8.5.  Not sure if you can undock that part of the screen real estate in X1, but if not then hopefully that capability can be added back.  I still jump between 8.5 and X1 depending on what I'm doing (i.e. the same project but between versions) as I find some things are faster to do in one version or the other.
