X1d Prochannel bounce /copy settings
I used Prochannel on many instrument tracks of my virtual instruments.
Later I decided to bounce all tracks to audio and make a fresh pure audio session to mix and master.
When bounced, I:
- deleted all synths (their instrument track were deleted and split into an audio and midi track)
- deleted all track fxs
- muted and archived both their midi and audio tracks (having them disappear by track manager).
After 15 minutes, I had 16 tracks of pure audio, ready for clip automation, mix and master.
As I pressed play, I heard that the prochannel had not been bounced (perhaps correctly, but not as expected)
Where did I go wrong? Is there a way to bounce prochannel?
I am considering for the next time:
1. do not use Prochannel during composition. Render to audio and then use prochannel on audio tracks in the mix phase.
2. do use prochannel during composition, then save it as a preset before deleting the synth. On the bounced audio track, open prochannel and load the preset just saved.
3. bounce the instrument track with its prochannel by routing it to a fresh new bus, and apply bounce to the bus instead
1 is the option I fancy most, because it's clean and prochannel settings may always be tweaked in the mix stage so better not freeze them on the bounce (opt 3).
Can you suggest an easier way to accomplish opt 2 (e.g. copy and paste prochannel settings from the instrument track to the audio track)?
Thanks
