Me too, smooth as silk install, I would swear screensets load faster too, although this isn't indicated as being a feature at this release

I was thinking the same thing that screensets were loading faster, and also when opening a project.

If users reada the instrucstions carefjully - as convoluted as it is, they will be ok.

It all went just fine here, fortunately.

I do think CW could have handled the instructions, installation in a more finessed way - but it does work and X1D is working admirably so far.

    Just do it :P

Rolled back the quickfix and installed X1d without a hitch. It's running great. The new eq features are a nice addition. Thanks Cake.

Ya had to do that on the main DAW.

The lappy was still at pre-hotfix. Simples.

    Smooth as silk!

Of course, I waited to see what others here were doing right and wrong, waited a little longer, reread and reread instructions, then after confirming that I had a 425 build, it was a simple process with no roll backs.

    WOW - Smooth install?

Did it require a single click to apply instead of the usual double one?

Agreed, the instructions/installation could have been presented in a more finssed way.  In fact, I'm glad I read a couple of post here before I installed.  A few folks ran into some issues that I was able to avoid.

I just thought the issues the patch is intended to address would have been more worthy of review than whether it installed via a double click like most every other windows installer.

    I guess I couldn't help myself.

Yes folk had trouble clearly by not preparing to apply the patch by making sure they had removed quick fixes and installed up until version C but as far as I can see all that was covered clearly in the document that accompanies the download.

So what's worse a little reality check in the form of some light humoured sarcasm or a plethora of folk that need indulging because they can't follow a simple set of instructions?

Actually amiller I wonder if you could try this out being as it states in your sig. you have 8.5 still installed.

I'd be interested in your findings.

I am genuinely interested in moving to X1 after this update so your input may help here.

Yes. But some members had 2 folders if they applied both "quickfix". But, each folder contains 1 file (the sonar executable). And in that specific case, the older folder can be ignored. There was one case where both "quickfix" were applied but for some unexplainable reason, the most recent backup folder was not created..., adding some confusion to the equation so to speak.

IMHO, the installation instructions were fine for the majority of members (especially those who took the time to read them fully).

Smooth here.  Disappointingly smooth.  After reading about some of the problems others had and the need to revert to an older build I was nervous.  Followed the directions on the download page and I was done literally in minutes.  Kind of a let-down, in a good way...

I wasn't going to bother as my new DAW was supposed to arrive today, but I heard from the company building it that it won't be here until Thursday, so I thought I have absolutely nothing to lose by installing X1d, so after first checking my build number (!!!) which was 425, I ran the .exe and everything seems perfect.
