X1d effect automation

Maybe it's just something silly I am doing but I've had this same automation issue since version 8. I'm currently running X1d on a Windows 7 in 64-bit mode. I want to create a fequency sweep on a clip. I originally tried this in Sonitus Eq. Automated it's fequency and place a start point and an end point. It works some of the time. Some times it gets stuck at the start end and other times at the end point. Then sometimes it works. Get the same result whether it's a clip effect or track effect. I've tried it with the LP-64 EQ and with this plugin you don't get audio. Remove the automation and it works. No idea where I'm going wrong. Like I said at the beginning I've had this problem with all versions since 8 and it's still there in X1d. Any leads would be appreciated. Steve R.

LP-64 EQ in my experience doesn't work very well when it comes to realtime adjustment. Do you have this problem with all envelopes or just this particular use?

The Sonitus range of effects generally don't work but clip volume and pans seem to be ok. I tried the LP-64 to investigate whether it was a Sonitus thing. For the moment I froze the track, copied and cropped the clip. That's the way I've done it in the past when there has been a problem. Steve R.

Steve, I've automated the Sonitus EQ many, many times without issue.

Karl is right in that the LP64 doesn't like on-the-fly changes, so I'm not surprised one bit that it doesn't respond to automation.

    What are your system specs?
Are you absolutely sure the sweep isn't working audibly, or could it simply be the UI not refreshing?

Thanks for the help guys. Answer is that the Sonitus EQ does work and I suppose all the other Sonitus effects probably do as well. Yes I was looking at the animation of the curve as I wanted to hit a certain frequency at a certain time and wasn't paying a lot of attention to the sound. Bad move. I would have preferred to use the LP-64 as it can do a higher Q but I'll survive. I'm often after a quick reliable result to keep in the music making mode so I don't go through all the options on the spot. Cheers, Steve R.
