X1d on Windows 8: any experience ?

Hi to all,

I purchased a new laptop (based on a Core i5 cpu) and i would like to use it with my V-Studio 20 and Sonar X1d.

I read a nice article on the Cakewalk blog regarding the performance of X1 on Windows 8, it would seem an ideal combination, but before i create me false expectations and wasting time unnecessarily, I'd like to know the direct experience of someone, if there is , which already are using X1 on a machine with Windows 8.

Two premises: I have no intention, at least for the moment, to upgrade to version X2 (Studio, in my case), for my needs X1 is more than enough, I'm an amateur guitarist and I like to record my songs and some covers I do not need something special, X1 has a lot of function, maybe too much... The second is less important but: personally, I love Windows 8 ....

Any experience or suggestions would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance for your attention.

I ran X1d on my Windows 8 box for a while, then I upgraded to X2a.  I had good experiences with X1d and Windows playing nicely together.

    Hope that helps,

Great experience here except not with 64bit, I had quite a few crashes with 64 bit so I run 32bit... - Shawn

Its fine. I don't use Sonar full time but the few times when I do open it with Windows 8 it works just fine.
