X2 C++ RunTime Error and other various Crashes.
Hi All A few things I was wondering if anyone has had happend to them ? I hit undo and got Microsoft Visual C== Runtime Library Error. ( this has only happened once ) Run Time Error! Program C:\ Program Files\Cakewalk\Sonar X2 Producer\SONAR PDR.exe R6025 - pure virtual function call Any one know what the above means ? I could not reload X2 without shuting down ther computer In task manager processes the memory was at 1,080,86 and I could not end the process (phisical Memory was at 11 % ) Yesterday I had a total of 10 crashes in the space of 6 hours and I am finding X2 crash at least 6 times a day. Things I have had cause crashes are.... Moveing Notes in PRV Drawing in PRV Left clicking on the console meter to remove the clipping mark Hiting Undo on the VS-700 Console Changing from Track to Bus on the VS-700 Console Other strange behavior I have found after crashes For example my bpm was set to 130 and 140 when re loading sonar I find my 140 has changed to 149.3 ( this has happend a few times. Midi In Prv has moved a few bars left and right and become jumbled up all through out a track about 4 mins long. Some times when I Right Click on a track and Delete Track my screen changes to console view and also undocks my PRV I can then not Change view By hitting Alt 1 or on my VS-700 I have to do this by mouse. ( this has happened three times now ) Four times on play back I have had all tracks take a silent pauses but not drop out. I loaded a session today and I had no sound from my soft synth but nothing was muted or on solo I re loaded the session and it all played fine I Know this is a lot of things going on but has anyone got any Ideas ? With X2 crashing so much I think I will be forced to put X1 back on my system. Can any one say if they have come across any of the above problems. Thank to all Norrie

@ StarTekh... I am not really sure what the links you sent are for but from what I have read up on the R625 Pure virtual function call it is a programming error ? This means nothing to me though and I just hope I dont see it again. I have SP1 installed. @ Tbosco.... I thought the Quick Fix was only for users who have had problems listed with in the overview ? Ive not had any of the problems listed there yet Thanks guys

norrie, jon posted links for windows visual, these are needed in order to run sonar x2 stably, these are usualy installed apon install of x2 but i like to install them on a clean os before i do anything. this just might take care of your problems as it seems it could be a visual issue

Hi all Sorry for the slow reply. Well the X2 patch and the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 has done nothing to help any of the problems :( After installing both I loaded a session moved a wave Sonar stoped responding and I could not reload without a restart of the System ending the process in task manager would not work. I have all my drivers up to date and the latest Bios My DPC latency is Current 6 us and max 11 on top of the list of issues above ( that gets bigger by the day ) I also have the problem of when I edit a Wave in my session by pulling the tail backwards and forwards it will make a scratching noise The Audio will then go silent but with nothing muted or soloed dureing this any midi I have is still making sound ( only the audio I was working on and a clone I made of it is silent. The only way to get it back is to restart Sonar I should mention the audio engine is not stoping and there is no sign of a drop out When this happens if I hit play or stop it makes a scratch noise. If I close any windows including Sonar it will cause a big pop. It is not the type of sound I have ever heard like the usual pop you would get from latency. I am worried it could damage my speakers Changeing the Asio buffer makes no difference even when changed from 96 samples all the way up to 4096 samples Play back buffer is 256 and recording buffer is 256 This system was awesome under X1 one I have no Idea why this will be now I have reported it all to Cake and waiting to hear bac. Any advice while I wait to hear back would be great or I am going to have to put X1 back on the system and wait for the next patch :(

Thanks Everything I don't use is off or disabled. I know the program you mean but that is also not set.
It is not a Bios problem I had Studio Cat do the system tweaks on this System Jim is a top guy !
I think this is more related to a problem that X2 since everything was fine before and is not happening all the time.
I will report back with what support say about all the issues :)
