I can play it. A lot of synths in it and it taxes my system about 50% with all of them going.

Could you list your specs? If your system is powerful enough to handle it well... there's probably a problem and perhaps it can be solved. If it's not... well there's yer problem. The test project in X1 was what alerted me to my set up's limitations. Once I corrected them all was well.

What's the title of the demo?

Sonar_AudioDemo loads/plays fine here, barely registering at around 10-15% cpu.

The Jodi Good track takes more juice, around 15-35% cpu, but also plays fine.

Note that I'm on a five-year-old Q6600 (slightly overclocked) system, so if you have anything newer/ faster (and it's not 32bit) then something is likely wrong with your setup.

Where is this "Where Did We Go" you speak of? All I can find is the SONAR_AudioDemo project, which is all audio and thus barely registers on my CPU-ometer.

IIRC, it installed from the Additional Content exe file that was extracted as part of the big X2 download.  Alternatively, if you got the boxed media, it was on Disc #4.

Again, I'm going from memory here, so there's a chance I'm mistaken.  If you can't find it, post back... I'll go through my X2 folders and track it down.  Though I'm sure someone else will manage to post the correct info before then...

Well it could only be in the "Cakewalk Content" folder then, couldn't it? I can't find it in there. The only example projects I can see are in C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR X2 Producer\Tutorial Projects and it's not among those.

    sharke,
On my system it's on the C: drive, in the "Cakewalk Projects" folder.

Did you run the Sonar_X2 Additional Content executable that I mentioned before?  I'm pretty sure this extracts it to the CW demo folder.

Its a great song. Someone mentioned it has lots of synths in it. It only has True Piano's and a few others from memory so I think you're looking at a different tune.

Got it! Turns out I hadn't installed it after all. Nicely done tune. Definitely not the same one Laney is talking about with the "lot of synths" which taxes his system 50%. This doesn't have a lot of synths in it at all, mainly audio with a few plugins. It barely registers on my CPU-ometer.

If I can break in here concerning the "where did we go"
    piece.

When I play that demo I get a lot of the lagging and clicks
and pops. Song barely plays through.

I have gone through my system with threads concerning
Optimizing the computer, also going over buffers etc.
And it seems like I shouldn't be having the latency problem.

When working with my projects at hand I dont seem to have
any latency issues , although some of my presets , say for Zeta
the presets that are more polyphony seem to lag and have trouble
    playing.

I am running X2 in 32 bit environment.
