X2 Freezes at first effort to run; must do a hard reboot of computer to defrost

I cannot get X2 to run. I try and it freezes and Task Manager cannot get the application to "end"; I have to manually push the power button to get my computer back. X1, both 32 & 64 bit, still run fine. I THINK it might have something to do with the CWAF tool, which I THINK runs the first time Sonar is opened after a fresh install. I know that my CWAF tool freezes and must be shut down before it finishes its audio finding job. I also downloaded and used the newest "part 1" installation file.
