Two thoughts here:
1. If you still have x1 or previous versions loaded, you can export the color scheme [go to preferences, advanced, colors--bottom of page]. Remember where you exported the scheme. Then in X2 you can import that color scheme you just exported. Just remember where you put it and choose import, and direct the program to the folder and the scheme that you saved. WARNING: while many of the colors are fine, there are a few added features in x2 that won't be changed. This is fine for many. You can always revert back to the x2 defaults.
[Edited: Brandon Ryan back in 2007 had posted a resource page for Sonar that has Color Schemes:
http://forum.cakewalk.com...gh=sonar+color+schemes ; on that page it links to some of Rothchild's custom color schemes for older Sonar versions (some of these are nice). Again some of the colors for the new features in X2 will not be changed.]
2. You can use Panup's [real name Panu] Duckbar program to load in some of his custom color schemes. You can also change the colors as needed. Just Google sonarmods, sign on to his site, download his program and you will have some nice alternative colors. WARNING: this is not approved or authorized by Cakewalk; however, many of us on this site use Duckbar for color customization. ALSO, save/backup a copy of the TTSRES100.dll file to a new name [like TTSRES100backup.dll] before you run the Duckbar; that way if you need to contact Cakewalk for support you can rename this back to its original and load it; Cakewalk does not support mods.
Hope this helps. There are alternative colors out there, you just need to hunt them down.
