Seems like a bug. Did you report it to Cakewalk using the problem reporter?

In the PRV top right hand side the PRV has it own snap settings. Yours are hidden. For the PRV snap settings to work the global settings have to be on iirc. Try changing the PRV  snap settings and see what happens.

Yup just checked on my system it works as advertised.

In your PRV, in the top right hand corner there is a cross hatched square, click on it to show the PRV snap settings.

In the PRV go to View>Grid Resolution> Follow snap settings.

Change PRV snap settings and watch the grid resolution change.

As I suspected the Global (the one you used in your video) has to be on for the PRV snap settings to work.

@funkybot - yeah filled out a problem report.

@stinga - example of how it's supposed to work from x1pe (please note the original video was sonar x2). the reason there's a snap setting in the prv lane in the top right is to override the global for that track independently. if you watch the video again, you will notice that the global is on when i change the snap settings.  this video from x1pe follows the same steps.

    Hi swamptooth.

I've just followed your recipe in your first video, and i'm afraid mine works as advertised in both snap to and snap by settings.

Interestingly the project I have tried in on is one that I have imported from X1.  but it does work perfectly.

Just tried with a project started in X2 and still works perfectly.

Does it happen in all your projects or is it just project that is corrupt in some way?

    Weird for sure.

yeah between thisa one and they key bindings for snap settings and a handful of other stuff the cw problem reporter is bound to be very unhappy with me.  ;)  it's kinda funny because i'm not experiencing ANY of the big problems that people with WAY better systems than mine are experiencing. i mean i was even running a project with prochannel modules and lp64 mastering modules with automation and about a dozen instances of rapture and dim pro set to multitimbral and no crashey bad face (like in X1).  instead i get these annoying little ones. how funny is that???

This is what I got in response to my bug report from Cakewalk:

    Thank you for your report.
This is exactly as intended. The PRV Snap Settings override the Global Snap Settings. If Global Snap is completely disabled, then the PRV Snap is as well. This is why the graphic for PRV Specific Snap changes colors and is not able to be altered when Global Snap is disabled. This is explained in more detail here: http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013258
    Best regards,
    Cakewalk Problem Tracker

Now, I still think it's bad design to have a unique Snap option that only works if the other Snap option is also on, but again...what can you do. They seem to think it makes sense.

See that's just silly because I don't want to override the global snap settings, I want it follow the global snap settings. I've never used the prv snap because to me it's pointless and just another thing to keep track of.  if it's intended then why does it partially work?? lol.

this is the response i got...
