X2 Users Poll : How many of you are happy, it's working great?
I'd love to get a sense of the percentage of people using X2 that are happy with it's performance and stability?

Seems alright so so far! No crashes except when using a whole outfit of console emulation.

I had some problems initially, but I did some serious clean up of my computer, including checking my C: drive and running a full virus scan which uncovered a trojan that was hiding on my computer. I also ditched a ton of VSTs from various sources that I wasn't using and I am now sticking pretty much to the Cakewalk supplied plug-ins. In addition, I removed some old versions of software on my computer and cleaned up the disk drives so they had a lot more free space. Since then, its been much more stable. I think some of the instability people are experiencing is due to running 32-bit plugs in the 64-bit Sonar. I suspect bitbridge is not always able to bridge the gap.

I'm happy. Had a couple weird crashes but I haven't installed the quick fix yet and I'm sure the first full patch will shake out most of the bugs. Take lanes are great. TH2 is great. The new time ruler stuff is great. I haven't messed with much else though like Breverb, R-Mix, console emus or any of the other goodies but that's coming soon. I run an i7 2600k, 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR, Caviar Black 7200rpm drives, ASUS P8Z68-V PRO GEN3 MOBO, Win 7 Pro, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6 and the system has been optimized using the Sweetwater optimization guide minus a couple of Sonar specific steps. Cheers.

It's ok so far. But I'm having an issue with now time being weird (not snaping to where I want it or where it should be pre preferences) the dimpro thing (which seems to be some can reproduce, but not all) the TH2/prochannel recall crash (they must be working on that, totally reproducible) and some general annoyances like clicks when turning certain things on (mostly prochannel) But it's been pretty stable so far. I admit, I'm not a power user yet though.

50/50 here. More crashes than X1, bugs that need fixing. Some nice new features.

Extremely happy - so far - but my use of the full feature set is limited, so take it for what it's worth. Update: Less happy since working today with Take Lanes and having some trouble with them. That's to be expected. If I can make my workflow follow the "Happy Path" it's fine, but there are some quirks here that are a little ugly. I still think, for a v.1.0 feature, it's pretty solid.

regular crashes here, say one or two a day... vs one every two months with x1.. activities that are prone to creating a crash are: 1. changing midi devices in preferences 2. auditioning audio content like beep though, happy enough and sure that the first update will make major improvement

I'm always happy. Anyway, for me X2 is good and better than X1. Performance is more gapless. No crashes yet. But I did not spend a lot of time with X2. I do more work in Reason nowadays.

I am still testing features. Had a few crashes with 306, but nothing yet with 308 Quickfix. Looks pretty good to me, the CPU core spread is much smoother. In X1 Core 1 always seemed very high, now its rather even.

I'll say one thing: compared to the X1 rollout, X2 has been rock-solid from Day 1. The minor problem with the ProChannel GUIs disappearing was taken care of by the Quick Fix. No other issues here. Amazing what a few billion binary digits, arranged in a particular order, can do. :-) Cheers, Eddie

Pretty happy here. For me, there's no comparison between: A) X2's feature set vs. X1, and B) X2's initial stability vs. X1. And X2 has only had one quick fix. I can't wait to see how the first "real" update goes...

Working well here. A few wtf moments when the hand goes into autopilot and selects a quick key that has changed - though these are imo a lot more logical now. Lots of small improved features that add up to a lot. Main likes PRV, auto zoom, aim assist, automation lanes, smart tool, PC additions. Still not got my head round comping on multiple tracks eg drums.

A few little tweaks for the bakers to make to get X2 awesome, but I am using it without crashes since the 308 quick fix. I don't feel the need to go back to X1 at all.

@Silicon Audio... I thought I'd be running X2 alongside X1 until I got used to it and was sure it was stable. As soon as I started using X2 I haven't looked back. It's just far easier to use from a workflow standpoint even with the occasional crashes (remember I haven't installed the quick fix yet). Definitely needs a patch though.

I have had 3 crashes with it, about one per session I have done with it though I have been doing different things so I am not sure the reason. I have had a few instances where while recording it wasn't showing the waveform so I wasn't sure if it was actually recording or not. I am not crazy about the Comps in the pro-channel as I hear them as a volume knob.... for some reason I cannot hear these 2 particular compressors actually changing the transients at all, so I've opted not to use them in favor of others. I really like the new transport section, the slider is a nice touch. I hate the colors, and the fact that I am always struggling to figure out what track I am freaking looking at. I am sure I'll get used to it...

I like the new features like take and automations lanes, the way the tools work now and the new PC features, Aim Assist and so on. I haven't given it a good work out yet. The big issues for me right now are, 1.Track levels get automatically automated somehow. (I have it set to touch not overwrite.) 2.No level meters during record or playback in track view mostly. (A BIG problem) Cake might have the fix for this shortly. 3.None of my X1 projects I pulled up in X2 work properly. Dumb stuff like auto track zoon don't work. Other than that it's not so bad.

If you are using console emulation at all or even Rmix or loading old projects with the sonitus per track eq you definitely want the quickfix. Otherwise some of your instability is very likely to be related to issues already fixed. There are no negative side effects to installing the quickfix. At this point its pretty well tested by the userbase so its as good as any official release would be.

I really like it but I do get white screen, random hard crashes more than I ever did after X1d. It does need a tested update/patch and it should be a real winner. Would love to see the aim assist work on midi notes like it does on clips by putting the line on the side of the note but I guess that is a feature request. oops, I didn't see Noel's post above...

Thanks, Noel. I've just been lazy about it because the issues aren't even that bad or common for me and I'm in the middle of a project. Just the odd blip and blurp and it seems to recover quickly. I might do it tomorrow though. Is there a chance it'll mess anything up with my current project? Maybe I should finish it off before messing around. Cheers.
