I used to have the problem with the PC modules disappearing but that seems to have went away after the fix.

edited to change that "to" to a "the" :)

I'm rather disappointed. I did not have any real problems before the fix. Other than a draw issue and the damn jumpy console issue. (I notice something similair in Windows explorer in the tree pane so maybe they're related?).

Now with the fix? I still have no real problems other than the jumpy console and I have not noticed the draw issue yet.

    Zo - I LOVED 8.5 - X2 is an EXPONENTIAL leap forward.

Why don't you try downloading the free trial for 30 days?

The complete redesign of the user interface is a fabulous transformation.  It used to be a seriously complex beast - some things are a bit more annoying to get to, but just until you get used to them.

It is REALLY worth it, and is DEFINITELY better than X1, and CRAZY better than 8.5

Jesse, slightly different environment between you and Zo.  It seems like he is currently using 8.5, while you are using X1D.

For him, he would get a much more substantial set of benefits than you would, including - for him:

    1.  Complete redesign of the user interface
    2.  I believe there is a newer version of Rapture, as well 1.2.2 I think
    3.  Pro-Channel (BIG-TIME nice thing to have)
    4.  Automation Lanes
    5.  Saturation Knob
    6.  New effects and amp modeler
    7.  Side-Chaining
    8.  A BUNCH of little improvements, and a bunch of internal improvements
    9.  Screen Sets
    10.  Improved 'Preferences' section

I had X1 and just switched to X2.  I find X2 to be quite comfortable, stable, and worth the upgrade.  The audio engine improvements alone are worth the upgrade, and the Automation Lanes are too.

As I suggested, since both X1 and X2, (or for him 8.5 and x2) can live quite nicely on the same computer, I would recommend to BOTH of you that you download the trial and test it all out.

Really - give it a try,

    Bob Bone

    Piangio -
I don't know if you answered this previously or not - but it would be helpful if you would post your complete system specs in your "signature" of your posts - that way somebody who wants to help you out has an idea of what your are running, etc. It doesn't matter most of the time but definitely makes a big difference when you are looking for help.
I viewed your video but couldn't tell exactly what was happening - Is the Audio engine stopping on each of the "clicks" that is occurring when you move the various aspects of the project around the screen? It would help if you also listed your audio driver mode, your reported latency, your buffer settings etc -
In my own case, on an older Quad core processor I can do most of what you show on the screen without any interruption to the audio engine, and with (perhaps) only the slightest dropout of audio at all - but no "clicks" or "pops" etc -
BTW - sounded like a nice tune if it wasn't "clicking" all the time - LOL

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/63155662/System.pdf Ignore the win XP partion anymore used. As you see, almost everytime I click on Pro channel (or sometimes on any other widget and so on...) audio drops. Note that if I open 4 sessions of Omnisphere and I browse, select presets, play, Sonar goes flawlessly. I tried with all possible values of buffer size without improvement. I'm waiting for a new graphic card 2GB instead of gt9400. I tried a total re-installation of X2 but with no success. I also tried asio4all instead of my konnekt48 drivers: no success. What else can I do?

I used to drop in on this forum for years before I actually became a serious Cake user. I have seen less negativity with the release of X2 than any other upgrade of a Cake version.. I don't know if anyone else has noticed that. I know this forum went crazy when they released X1! Sometimes it was just brutal some of the posts that were on here. This release, even with some of the install issues, seems to be a very positive one. I know other than the Rapture install issue, so far, this has been the most seamless upgrade so far for me.

Sonar Platinum, Sonar X3e, Sonar X2a , Sonar X1 Expanded and 8.5.3 (32 and 64 bit), Windows 10 on a Toshiba P75-A7200 Laptop with i7 @ 2.4 quad and 8 gigs of RAM and secondary WD 1 Tb drive, Windows 10 desktop, Asus i5 @ 3.2 quad, 12 gigs RAM, 1 Tb drive, 1 500 gig drive, MOTU 24io, 2 Roland Studio Captures, Saffire 6 USB for laptop, Soundtracs Topaz Project 8 mixer, Alesis Monitor 2s, Event BAS 20/20s, Roland Micro-Monitor BA-8s, and 45 years worth of collecting FX, Mics, Amps, Guitars, and Keyboards!

I think every update has at least "that one thing" that makes it worthwhile.  For me it's Breverb.  I think it's a huge leap forward compared  to other included verbs.  For those that already have outstanding third party reverbs, this might not be a bog deal, but for me it helps tighten my plugin pool considerably.

    X2 is running like a champ !!

That's my small dilemma - Cake states on the download page that if you're not having problems, no need to install. I chose to not install. But that goes against what I normally would do.

I've been following the X2 stuff and my impression is that the Pro Channel is still the main culprit. I could be completely wrong so please correct me. The issues with displaying PC modules seems to need a permanent fix but I'm unaware of anything else that big. The Pro Channel seems to be the backbone in Producer so I use it as my barometer in Xn stability.

Is anyone summarizing the bugs and fixes with X2?

The fact that X2 ran the first time I clicked on the icon makes it better than X1.
Seriously though, I've had only 1 ProChannel redraw episode before the quick fix and none since.
I'm about to finish the last if my testing on the rig in my signature and I don't think 8.5 is going on it. X2 only as far as SONAR goes.

Had some problems with frequent crashes before, big difference after nearly 0 crashes. Can actually work in the program now.

    Asus P8Z77-V LX, Intel i5-3570K, 8 gig ram, Line6 UX2, M-Audio C400 mostly uses this one, Waveterminal 192-m, ATI 6970. Windows 7 64-bit, Sonar X3D 64-bit. And lots of plugins.  christian-landstrom.se

    Sidroe,
As you can see I have a bit more of 100 posts in this forum. I'm using Cakewalk begining from CW 6. I'm absolutely "not negative" and I think that Sonar concept is the best for me. I'm only facing the problem I described and I have to complete a mixing session (!!!). This is the only place where I should find an idea to get out from this situation. Really I'm not negative and I love the work done by Cakewalk crew.

I too would normally install patches whenever they came out, but I have learned through some painful lessons to be more careful.  I evaluated and chose NOT to install the quick fix, as I do not seem to have any issues with anything it addresses.

Hope that helps your decision making process.

I wasn't having any problems before I installed it and now I'm still not having any problems.

    X2 is running like a champ !!

That's my small dilemma - Cake states on the download page that if you're not having problems, no need to install. I chose to not install. But that goes against what I normally would do.
