X2 and Slate VCC - anyone else have some bugs with this?

Hi guys, I find X2 unbelievably stable, except for Slate VCC.

I often open a project with VCC in it (which is all of it, pretty much) just to get the message that X2 has encountered a problem with Slate VCC and has to close. Then the next launch it's normally OK. I have updated everything including the iLok drivers and still this persists.
I run Win 7 64 bit with X2 32bit. Obviously, the problem reported has reported it a zillion times by now, to no avail!

Any similar experiences anywhere?

No issues here. I have VCC, VTM, and FG-X, no crashes. I only use them in mixing, though. Are you using it to track at super low latency? Just thinking out loud. Hope you can sort sort it. - Shep

Hi Shep, also only in mixing. Really weird. And my latency is set to 512 for mixing - so no risk there AFAIK. This has been going on since X1 actually, but I cold never spot the problematic plugin till now.

It works fine here. Are you running the latest update? Is your iLok otherwise functioning properly? I'd suggest:

    1. Reinstall VCC, then...
    2. Install the newest iLok drivers for Windows

Yeah LJB, same deal here. I sort of have that problem with all Slate processors at times....or get weird sound artifacts from them. Quite a few of my clients have noticed the same thing. Either the plugs don't like Sonar, or Sonar doesn't like the plugs. I don't get these issues with any of the other DAW software I use...but the weird artifacts thing comes up at times no matter what DAW I use. I actually stopped using the Slate stuff as I really don't like it....a bit too dirty for me. One thing his plugs aren't in my opinion...transparent.

    Thanks guys.

Well, even though I had installed the new build (1.5.2), it was still sitting at 1.5.0 - not sure why. re-ran everything now and also made Windows search for an Ilok update which found SOMETHING and installed it  - again even though I downloaded the latest driver just yesterday.
Let's see how that runs now...

Danny, as for Slate VCC,I get where you're coming from, but I suppose transparent is not really the aim here :O) I DO love the oversampling though  - it makes a mix much "deeper" to my ears.

I get a lot of the "Opening-project" crashes with VCC (and I think VTM a few times) with X1 all the time.

I've learned to live with it since X2 is out and nobody cares about X1 anymore haha.
