X-2 crashes when exiting a project
i upgraded today to X-2 then X-2a. Everything went smooth. i rescanned my plugins like they recommend. pulled up a recent project and everything worked like a champ. but when i close the project the whole program crashes and i have to open sonar again. never had this problem before. any ideas?

Is any error shown and does it create a crash log?

the only message i get is "this progam is not responding" and gives u the option to wait or close progam. so i have to close it and reopen it.

ok, i deleted all my 32bit plugins but some it wouldnt let me delete because it said some were open in something called teleport server. i did ctrl alt delete and went to processes and found the only thing that said teleport sever and hit end process. then deleted the plugin files it wouldnt let me before. Rescanned my plugins and everything seems to work fine. not sure if it was the 32bit plugins or the teleport server thing but i guess we'll see!

I believe the teleport server references are the Bitbridge wrapper that Cakewalk uses for loading the 32bit VSTs into 64bit SONAR. If you need the 32bit stuff, you could see if Jbridge works better for the VSTs in question.

I am having the exact same problem. ARGH!!! Everything works amazing until I try and close the project or export a track or project template.

@ Scook. youre right it was bitbridge. i remember seeing that. i didnt know what it was but i seen teleport out to the side of it so i just hit end process. ive been messing with X-2 since then and its working flawless now. as far as the 32bit plugins i dont need them, got too many plugins anyway so good reason to get rid of some!

since i got rid of the 32bit plugins i havent had any more problems exiting a project. but i havent exported one yet. some how when i made the switch to X-2 alot of the plugins that i knew were 64bit were actually running the 32 bit versions. if u have some waves plugs open it up and click on the W in the top left corner and make sure it says 64bit. once i figured out alot of my plugs were running the 32bit versions i started deleting them. some of my plugs were 32bit only so i just deleted them entirely. as i said in an earlier post some of the plugin flies wouldnt delete because of the teleport sever. so i closed everything out then did a ctrl alt delete, went to processes and found "bitbridge" and out to the right of that i seen the word teleport. i clicked end process. it asked u if ur sure. after that i deleted the rest of the plugins that it wouldnt let me before. restarted my computer, opened sonar and rescaned my plugs and been good ever since. i dont claim to be a computer tech guy but right now everything is working pretty good. i hope some of this helps.

Thanks Dude Ivey!!! One more question...did you just delete them from the plugin manager or did you go to Add/Remove programs?

Bitbridge works very well but some 32 bit plugins don't like it. You don't need to stop all use of these plugins just the one that was giving you trouble. Than you can try Jbridge for that. Sonar supports Jbridge so you shouldn't deprive yourself. I am as fully 64 bit as I can get. I will not buy any plugin that is not 64 bit. But I do have a few that I fine very useful and they give me no trouble under Bitbridge.
