X2 default plugin position

Hi guys. In X1 on my old computer it seems I could open a plugin, drag it to any position in any monitor and all plugins would open there for that session onwards. In X2 this is not the case and it's a huge pain for me. I'm wondering if there's something I can tweak somewhere to set the default position. This wouldn't be a problem so much if floating windows didn't steal focus all the time...I tried running Sonar across screens without floating windows but it's a mess and waste of space in areas. Thanks
