X2 download problem

Hey guys, I paid for the early pre x2 download. ive downloaded the files from my cakewalk account, but when i try and run them, I keep getting an error saying 'please download and run previous packages' i saw on another thread that the original files were corrupt so i have re-downloaded and keep getting the same error message. This is so frustrating. Any ideas ? my specs (if this helps) are windows 7 64bit, 8GB Ram, core i72600, and there is 45 gigs spare on my ssd c/drive. Would really appreciate some help Kind Regards Ben

i have got all 4 parts .exe downloaded its when i try and run them i get the problem, ive tried doing as administrator i keep getting the same 'please download and run previous packages' after the first exe has tried to run. Does this mean i still have the corrupt file in my account or do you reckon cakewalk have automatically updated peoples accounts with proper download link ?

The first thing you want to do is see which files are corrupt by verifying the checksums. See post #4 in this thread: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2667287. You MUST do this step if you don't want to keep running around in circles.

For downloading, Chrome worked best for me. Much better than Firefox. I also used FDM (Free Download Manager).

You also want to clear out your temp folder after any unsuccessful install attempts:
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp

I have the same problem and I've downloaded the files using IE, Firefox and GetRight to ensure there was not corruption. So the files aren't corrupted there's an issue with the installer.

well if they don't match checksum wise , bin it.. it's a corrupt file

how are you getting the files ? I used FDM.. but copy the link in your account from ya browser... and then + it in FDM, and hopefully it'll work

do 1 at a time, check it against the checksum then do the next.. didn't have that much issues, I'm also in the UK (London)

Any file that doesn't have a valid checksum you need to download again. I can't stress that enough. I had to download several files multiple times before I got valid checksums for everything. I know it's a pain - I spent a day and half just getting everything downloaded properly. Try Chrome or Free Download Manager. Once you've verified that all files have the correct checksums, then clear out your temp folder as I mentioned previously. Then you should be all set to install without any further hassle.
