X2 on XP?

I realize it's not officially supported (or that's the impression I have anyway) but... has anyone else with an older machine still running xp already tried this out? I will mainly be using X2 on my Win7 laptop for the immediate future - I'll be on a gig in Vienna for 5 months - but I'm interested to see if I can run it on my desktop when I get back or whether I should be planning for an OS upgrade...

A related question, how big is the default installed program directory, ideally minus any content that can be placed on another drive?

thanks for any replies...

Working okay on XP SP3 here - opened up taxing tracks from X1 without tripping up. Haven't had a chance to get deep into it, but all the new stuff seems to work.
