X2 smart tool behavior

http://www.cakewalk.com/D...ols.15.04.html#1422293 Took me a while to get used to Ctl + right click to drag select in PRV. And hooray: When you move a note in PRV while another note is selected now only the one intended note moves and not both. This was driving me nuts in X1.

So how do you select and drag more than one note?

Definitely seems like smart tool is one of the better default DAW tool setups around, but a customizable one would be better than this by far - like 8.5.3 had. Why did this get reworked into something less flexible, and why was the smart tool never big news in the days of 8.5.3? How many people talked about it then?

Dragging moves all selected notes, or does here anyway.....

Pre X1 there was no smart tool as such. The PRV had a multi tool but it didn't auto adapt to differnet views like this new tool, hence the term 'smart'.

There's now no need to change tool except on the odd occasion. I appreciate that users have different ways of working but the only time I select a different tool now is the mute tool for comping with.

    YMMV of course.

+1.    YMMV is definitely the case here, because I would not trade the X1/2 Smart Tool for the pre-X1 PRV tool(s).   And I have yet to use X2 which seems to be even better than X1 in this department.
