At first it's going to be like just because they their own , which will lead to someone else responding with and will try to show them the why it's a to go that route. Then, it'll start to get and another will say "you're just " for spending $200 just for an upgrade that should be included as they're just bug fixes. Then a full blown will erupt and some and a few choice including which will get those two from the forum until they cool down and can & in agreeing to go without treating each other like in a public forum so that everyone can be . .....that should cover it.

Pro Tools 10 should just be banned from recording... Still 32 bit....still LAME....still the self-proclaimed "Industry Standard" Arrogance and Ego know no bounds.... And PT10 is the proof....

Well following the course of the conversation it followed my PT being the "self-proclaimed" industry leader... So, in conversation flow, it would be a "logical" assumption that you were referring to PT... HOWEVER...this IS the Coffee House... SO, that may preclude any "hint" of logical "flow"

It's usually at this point where some well-meaning, but utterly clueless guy tries to say something along the lines of, "I think you're all pretty, in your own way..." That's when they turn on him and beat him to a bloody pulp. One then turns to the other, says something along the lines of, "Keep your hands off him, you fat cow!" There's a loud snarl from all sides, a "lively and spirited encounter" breaks out, and a large crowd of guys gathers to watch and comment. All goes well until one of those guys refers to the event as a Cat Fight. At this point, each of the contestants turn their feral eyes on him and his friends vanish fast enough to rip holes in the space/time continuum. Someone should probably get a firehose. That should make everything better.

Most of the recording studios (in a traditional sense, recording bands and such) I've seen were equipped w/ Pro Tools. Because, among other things, they could afford it. I'm pretty sure Paul McCartney's last album wasn't edited in Cubase, even if it was recorded outside of the US. Out of the mainstream, maybe... But I'd be tempted to bet you that Live rules them all out. The definition of studio has been stretched beyond recognition in the last 10 years - a laptop w/ Cubase and a pair of cans and you can deliver the score to a documentary or whatnot. Likewise, the whole DJ scene has loosened our definition. These guys are often self-procalimed "professional" and "international DJs", but this doesn't mean they generate enough money to rig their studio w/ Pro Tools. I bet you half these guys still live in their mom's basement. Pro these days means exposure. So in a sense, the INDUSTRY standard (as in major labels, major recording artists) does indeed rely on PT. The various music scenes are a different story. For a DJ, Live is 1000 years ahead of Pro Tools. For an industrial band (2 guys wearing eyeliner w/ plenty of fishnets and pvc but no hardware synths), Fruity Loops or Cubase may be the best option.

The various music scenes are a different story. I'm not here to argue semantics boys.....I'm just quoting "INDUSTRY STATISTICS" So, you'd need to call up Mix Magazine, Sound On Sound, Future / Computer Music, etc...and see who made this call.... But I don't think this would be published by some of the leading industry publications without some "reliable" source of data.... And their definition WAS Major Recording Studios...WORLDWIDE....Not JUST here in the states.. Not garage bands....WORLDWIDE.. and CUBASE with the highest count... Cubase is FAR more popular in Europe then here.... And again, in the MAJOR studios here in the states, it's HD....not Pro Tools ad hoc...and there is a HUGE difference..TDM And if you go by HD...then the numbers shift even MORE DRASTICALLY to Cubase favor...as being in more major studios Rain, you can bet that all those Studios running Pro Tools ALSO have Cubase... E Pluribus Unum....ad nauseum... I'm entitled to my opinion, and PROTOOLS AND AVID AND THEIR CUSTOMER SUPPORT, from my personal experience, are a bunch of overhyped garbage...and they are WAY BEHIND THE TIMES and way overhyped by themselves....and on their way "out the door" ....For being the quote unquote INDUSTRY LEADER.... But, use it all you want..I won't....I'd rather shoot myself in the face...thank you very much... But that's just IMHO...
